Huge DC Casting News, New Film Coming and More!

The Hashtag show is reporting that Swamp Thing will have a huge obstacle to overcome, which will see Kevin Durand playing Jason Woodrue, also known as The Floronic Man.

Jeremy Irons, after a not so hot reception of his turn as Alfred Pennyworth in the Zack Snyder DCEU, will go back to the DC world of stories.  This time though he’ll be playing an old as fuck Ozymandias in the upcoming HBO Watchmen series.

Irons confirmed this following an interview with slashfilm.com.  I might need to tap out on this show.

In other DC News, Grant Morrison has signed a deal with Universal Cable Productions to create content for various outlets according to Deadline.  SyFy and USA are apparently happy with his adaptation of Happy! to the live action screen on SyFy last year.

DC Entertainment is teaming up with Fathom Events to bring The Death of Superman and Reign of Supermen to theaters on a limited run.  The double-feature will happen for a two day span in January on the 13th and 14th.

Reign of Supermen will release on digital on January 15, 2019, and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on January 29, 2019.

Finally in DC news, The Wrap is reporting that Chris McKay of The Lego Batman Film will bring Jonny Quest to the live action realm.  This is the second time in nearly four years that the studio has tried to launch a Jonny Quest film, with Robert Rodriguez attached to make it.  He eventually backed up.

The Jonny Quest franchise was bought by DC a while back when DC acquired Hanna-Barbera Productions.   Jonny and his family have even starred in many DC crossovers since; most notably being DC’s Future Quest.
