Swamp Thing Casting News, Huge Breaking Bad Movie Coming and More! – ComicCorp News

Swamp Thing News – The series has cast their co-lead roles for the Avatar of the Green.  Firstly, Andy Bean will play Alec Holland, the man before the monster.  Holland is exposed to chemicals and the swamp, and he becomes Swamp Thing.  Swamp Thing will play by Friday the 13th character actor Derek Mears.  Mears is famous for playing monsters in movies, most notably Jason Voorhees in the 2009 Friday the 13th film and the ‘Classic Predator’ in the 2010 Adrian Brody film, Predators.

It’ll be interesting to see how the two actors share the role, as Mears has provided voice over work for the RWBY franchise.

In other casting news, Hendersonn Wade has been cast as Matt Cable, a “lawman” in Louisiana.  He’ll be presumably be an ally with Swamp Thing against the forces of evil.

Will Patton of Remember the Titans and the 2004 Punisher film is playing Avery Sunderland but apparently Kurt Russell and Greg Kinnear were offered the roles as well at one point.

Breaking Bad Movie Announced – AMC will be doing more original movies, firstly with the Rick Grimes trilogy starring Andrew Lincoln.  Now, AMC is doing a Breaking Bad movie with Aaron Paul returning to the role of Jesse Pinkman in a sequel to the original series.

This from the Hashtag Show’s Charles Murphy.   This was reported by Slashfilm.com originally.

The creator of the t.v. series, Vince Gilligan is working on the film, and will have to answer questions over the film going forward.

The big one is will Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, appear?  White died in the series finale after being gunned down saving Jesse’s life.  When asked about it on the Dan Patrick show, Cranston said;

There appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad, but I honestly have not even read the script… I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script.  So there’s question of whether or not we will even see Walter White in this movie

…I would (appear in the film), I would. Absolutely. If Vince Gilligan asked me to do it, sure, absolutely.  He’s a genius, and it’s a great story. And there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left open. And this idea, from what I’m told, gets into those, at least, a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.

I don’t know how hot off the press this is, and I think I’m allowed to say it, but I’m not in the next Kingsman movie.

That being said though, Egerton said he isn’t done with the franchise just yet.  The third film is expected to be a prequel.
