New Star Trek Comic Coming, Wonder Woman 2 Changes Date and More! – ComicCorp News

Star Trek Getting One Shot – IDW will be publishing a new one-shot from writer Mike Johnson and Kristen Beyer, with arty by Angel Hernandez, with the cover by Paul Shipper.  The book is called Star Trek: Discovery: Captain Saru.  Saru was at one point the second in command of the ship Discovery, and is played by iconic creature actor Doug Jones.  Johnson teased the book earlier in the month in an interview with ComicBook.com, saying;

I can tell you that the plan right now is to tell the story that involves the whole Discovery crew as we know and love them, and it will be more of a contemporary story in terms of the present time of Discovery and not so much a flashback like our other ones have been.  So that’s sort of the teaser for the next one.

First Look at Live Action BaneGotham is bringing Bane to the small screen in it’s final season.  The iconic Batman villain though looks nothing like one would imagine.    Actor Shane West is playing the iconic villain  and Entertainment Weekly released an official look at the character after leaks emerged.   Show-runner John Stephens then confirmed this at the New York Comic Con, saying;

Finally, we found that if you beg and you plead enough, and then they find out that your show is not going on anymore, they’ll give it to you.  We always wanted to do it and we wanted to do it in a way that has not been told as much on screen or in the comic books, which was to really tell the story of how he was before he became Bane. And we tied it to Jim’s back story, in a way that I think is clearly different than canon, but I feel like it is like a tributary that then goes into the canon.

Quick Hitters – LeBron James is reported to be in talks to join the Friday the 13th reboot as a producer.  The Walking Dead confirms that Andrew Lincoln will end his run on the show on the November 4th edition of The Walking Dead.  Wonder Woman’s sequel, Wonder Woman 1984 has been moved to June of 2020 from the original date of November 2019.
