Top Indy Star Not Going to WWE? Abyss on Staying Loyal to IMPACT and More! – WrestleCorp News

Top Indy Star Has No WWE Interest (Allegedly) – This isn’t news, just old new news.  WALTER is a major component in the German lead wXw and really has no interest in working in the States full time.  The company is so beloved in Europe, it even saw Timothy Thatcher join with them on a more than part time basis.

So with wXw gaining steam in Europe, arguably being the second largest promotion on the continent besides PROGRESS and maybe World of Sport in England.  The WWE offered WALTER a deal, though he denied it.  Well we have a new interview that may shed light on WALTER’s future in wrestling.  The WWE has expressed interest in WALTER joining the WWE UK brand, but that may mean giving up wXw which is a non-starter.  So when The Mirror interviewed WALTER, and asked him about joining the WWE, WALTER said;

I don’t know if I mentioned this but being a part of the Raw or SmackDown roster is nothing I am interested in.  I don’t want to live in the US. I really like NXT though, I think it’s a great product, filled with the best talent in the world and is focused on competition in the ring, which is something I enjoy. I don’t want to say it will never happen because in wrestling things change so quick.

Abyss Talks Loyalty to IMPACT – Jerry Jarrett, Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, John Gaburick, Billy Corgan, and now Ed Nordholm; these are the people who have ran or had say over IMPACT Wrestling until Scott D’Amore and Don Callis came in.  Despite so many names at the top, Abyss (aka Joseph Park) has been loyal to the company since day one, even though he wouldn’t make an impact until 2004.   When interviewed  by Busted Open Radio, Abyss commented on his loyalty by saying;

Impact took a gamble on me when I was a nobody. I was coming out of Puerto Rico with a decent name but nothing to where, nobody knew who I was stateside.  TNA gave me that chance when nobody else was biting. To see that growth, and be part of that growth. I always tell people, that meant the most. That’s one of the reasons I never wanted to leave because I was there since the beginning. I was part of the original ground floor of the company.

On most Wednesday night pay-per-views in 02-03, we didn’t know if there was going to be a next Wednesday or not. We came every week not knowing what was going to be the future of the company in 2003.  A lot of people said we were going to close up the doors in six months. They said that for about 12 years. I’m so proud of what the company has done. There’s been ups and downs, no doubt. And They’ve been well documented. But for me, it’s a great company. We’ve struggled and really plowed through some obstacles along the way. It’s been home and something I could never see myself leaving.

Quick Hits – Carmella changed her hair color back to her “natural” (borderline purple is natural?) color to signify a return to her “roots”.  WWE RAW suffered drops to historic lows of 2.349 million viewers against the NFL – while IMPACT usually gains against the NFL.  Curious.   WrestleCon has announced Joey Ryan’s Penis Party.  I’ve RSVP’ed “Not Going”.
