Joker’s Makeup Revealed, Stargirl Cast and More! – ComicCorp News

Joker Makeup Revealed – Todd Phillips Joker film has revealed the makeup for their take on Joker.  The video below shows Arthur’s change from a normal man to a more classical looking clown.

When asked in a recent interview wit Collider, Joaquin Phoenix revealed the films genre, saying;

I wouldn’t quite classify this as like any genre.  I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more then anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting. I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles. And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied. And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.

Netflix Taking Second Shot at Animated Video Game Series – If you think Netflix was nuts by launching a bloody Castlevania series, they’re upping up the dosage by developing a series featuring Diablo.  The game rose to prominence in the mid-late 90’s for it’s combat, RPG elements and intense imagery.  Andrew Cosby, founder of Boom! Studios tweeted out that they’re in the final stages to bring the long running game franchise to Netflix in an animated format.

Stargirl Casting Revealed –  Geoff Johns first major book for DC Comics was Stargirl, a series that starred a young teen girl, whom Johns designed to look and act like his departed sister.  This will be, shockingly enough, the third time DC has greenlit a live action version of the character.  Once for Smallville, once for the Arrowverse and now for her own series called Stargirl on the DC Universe platform.

Landing the titular role is Bella and the Bulldogs Brec Bassinger.  Johns, who will write the first episode commented on the casting, saying;

There is no other character in comic books more special to me than Stargirl, and after searching far and wide I can say there is no other actor on the planet that embodies her more than Brec Bassinger. Brec’s warmth, strength, humor and positive energy are core to who Courtney Whitmore is. I’m so grateful she’s signed on for the role.
