Captain Marvel Trailer Drops, Rick and Morty Host and More – ComicCorp News

Captain Marvel Trailer Debuts – Despite what some would lend you to believe, no.  This was not the second coming of Jesus.  The trailer, featuring Brie Larson, debuted to widely positive-ish results on social media, with some over hyping it, and some slamming it outright (but those seem to be…iffy at best).  To me it reeks of another Marvel film, but this one with decidedly less humor; so I’m intrigued.  I like Larson and young Samuel Jackson is freaking me out, so I may check it out.  In three or four years.  After I finally watch Black Panther, Thro Ragnarok and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Rick and Morty Host an Award at the Emmys –  I’m not sure what’s more impressive; winning an Emmy as an animated series (and Rick and Morty have won a few), or hosting an award in animated form at the Emmys.   Well, last night Rick and Morty of Rick and Morty handed out the Outstanding Reality competition Program Emmy to the winner; Rupauls’s Drag Race.  In typical cynical Rick and Morty fashion, they manage to get some laughs while also ruining the awards for everyone.

IDW and Marvel Working Together – The comic companies are teaming up for a new book called Marvel Action: Avengers, that’ll debut in December.  The book is aimed at a younger audience and will be written by Matthew K. Manning and will be illustrated by Jon Sommarvia.  Why the two companies are working together are anyone’s guess.

Quick  Hits – Despite claims to the contrary, recent rumors of Dr. Eggman’s live action debut from the upcoming Sonic film being leaked online are in fact false.  The next DC game from Rocksteady Studios is rumored to be revealed next year, and many believe that it’ll be Superman that the game centers around.  Rocksteady made the critical and financial hit Arkham series.
