Brock’s Back, Top Japanese Star to Become Free Agent and More! – WrestleCorp News

Brock Lesnar is Back – Despite his deal expiring, Brock Lesnar has seemingly returned to the WWE – for now.  There were rumblings before that the WWE wanted Lesnar back before his deal expired at SummerSlam, and here we are about three and half weeks later with him back.  I’d imagine the deal is similar to what he’s had before; but this time with more allowances to fight in the UFC.  The UFC would have to agree to a similar deal to allow him to keep working WWE dates, and that does seem possible but right now we have no answers other than Brock Lesnar is back, and is expected to wrestle in Saudi Arabia.  Will he work with the company past that date?  Who knows.   Anyone who thinks that the WWE wouldn’t ruin the ending of a major show to promote a one off appearance in a foreign country, at a glorified house show, doesn’t know the WWE.

205 Live Moving Days – It was reported over the weekend that 205 Live is moving days, debuting on Wednesday’s coming this week.  Some believe this is due to the return of the Mixed Match Challenge, though this has yet to be confirmed.  There is also no word on when the show will be filmed or if it’ll move locations.  Currently it’s taped right after SmackDown, and the idea going forward is that it’ll be taped on Tuesdays still but on a delay.

Matt Hardy Retires? – This will be the biggest debate all week.  At a weekend event for the WWE, Matt Hardy said it was “…time to go home” and be a father and husband.  Hardy’s been dealing with a fusion of his pelvic and lower back have fused together.  Matt has been off t.v. since losing the tag team titles with Bray Wyatt, but has worked house shows since.  Matt is shot a video after his last match saying;

Thank you for taking the time to capture this. I just wanted to tell you, I’ve enjoyed working with you on live events.  I just want to take a moment, and I want to address the WWE Universe. All of the Woken Warriors, all of the Hardy Boyz fans, all the Mattitude followers, all those people who’ve allowed me to live my dream for so many years. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do and I got to do it at the hightest level for 26 years, and I’ll never forget the reaction the WWE Universe gave us at WrestleMania 33 upon returning – it was truly one of the greatest moments of my career.  WrestleMania 34 was a great moment – winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, and I got to bring my creation, the Ultimate Deletion to RAW in the main event slot. A lot of cool stuff I’ve got to do, and there’s been a lot of speculation for quite a while online if I’m going to be wrestling any longer or not and… WWE, fortunately they let me fulfill all my advertised commitments but tonight in Corpus Christi, this was the last advertised commitment I had and, I never say never or as Woken Matt Hardy would say, ‘NEVAH say Nevah’, but tonight here in Corpus Christi is most likely the last time you’ll ever see Woken Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.  I have two young kids and a wife… its time for me to go… its time for me to go home

Top Japanese Star Contract Expiring? – Dave Meltzer is reporting that one of Dragon Gate’s biggest star, Shingo Takagi is about to become a free agent.  Meltzer reports that his deal is done on October 7th.  The story according to Meltzer is that former Founder, Owner and President of Dragon Gate, Takashi Okamura wouldn’t let him for some reason.  The new management structure will let him leave and hope for a return.  Meltzer believes that the market for him is good in Japan but it’ll be interesting to see where lands.  Will he take a big deal for a mid card spot in New Japan?  Become a building block in All Japan or Pro Wrestling NOAH’s revival?  Will he take a deal with Wrestle-1 where he becomes the new top guy?  Or will he go like Kota Ibushi and Freelance?  We’ll see.

Quick Hits – Cody Rhodes will defend the NWA Worlds Championship against Willie Mack at a ROH show on September 29th.  Congratulations go to Jeff Cobb who won the Battle of Los Angeles tournament last night at the Globe Theater.  The last NWA Women’s champion before Billy Corgan bought the brand has stated she’d not only like to wrestle at IMPACT Wrestling, but also against Ronda Rousey.
