Swamp Thing Casts Lead, Kevin Smith’s Next Project and More! – ComicCorp News

Swamp Thing Cast; Kinda – The DC Universe streaming serve is loading up Titans, Young Justice and Swamp Thing as their big three to launch with.  All three shows have gotten a lot of buzz, but the least of whom happens to be Swamp Thing.  The show though has officially cast Swamp Thing and it’ll be iconic character actor and stuntman Derek Mears.  Mears played Jason Vorhees in the Friday the 13th reboot, as well as Hawes in Hatchet 3 and appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Flash.

Yet it should be noted that he’s only playing the suit-monster; not voicing the role are playing Swamp Thing’s human side, Alec Holland.

Kevin Smith Reveals Project Details – Kevin Smith has been rumored to be attached to several projects coming up, especially since his July post on Twitter about a huge writing gig.  He revealed on his podcast recently that the project isn’t a film that many thought, but a t.v. show and he continued on by saying;

I know I’m being vague, I wish I could f*cking tell you and the moment I can tell you, man, I’m going to be like ‘blaaaaa!’ and you’re going to be like ‘what the f*ck!’ but it’s not a movie.  I’ve had a lot of people be like ‘oh, it’s a f*cking Marvel movie!’ Nobody would give me a movie. Nobody would give me a movie whatsoever. I’m struggling to make Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. This is a series thing, but it’s a f*cking dynamite series in a real weird, wonderful place. So, more as I know more.
