Major IMPACT Tapings, Matt Hardy’s Future and More! – WrestleCorp News

Major IMPACT Wrestling News – IMPACT Wrestling will resonate from Mexico City, Mexico on September 13th and 14th for new episodes of IMPACT on Pop!  The t.v. tapings are taking place at the Frontón México in the central square of Mexico City, called Plaza de la Republica.

The venue appears to be a former jai alai court, that’ll more than likely serve as the entrance and ring area.  It has since been remodeled so it’ll be interested to see what the arena looks like now.

The show is taking place in part with AAA and 52MX, their broadcast partner i the region.  IMPACT just recently got back on t.v. in Mexico, so this is a big move for establishing new regions for their eventual return to touring.  The tapings are being billed as the final stretch for their Bound for Glory event.

Matt Hardy Update – Matt Hardy has to deal with nagging injuries that may and more than likely end his in ring career.  His wife, Reby Sky, spoke to Busted Open Radio recently and revealed that he has to have surgery to help a nagging issue where his pelvis is fusing to his back.  Reby Sky revealed that their will be conversations around his future when his contract expires in March, saying;

Matt is good. Matt is going through a bit of a transitional period; he’s not really sure what he going to be doing. His contract is up in March, which I’m not sure many people are aware of, but there’s sort of a decision to be made at this point as to whether or not he should continue his in-ring career or if he should pursue something different. Which, he would totally be up for and would be excited to do, I feel like, so he’s kind of giving it a go right now backstage. He’s at Summerslam; he’s not on the card, but he’s there, and we’re kind of going to see from here. It’s really a transitional time right now.
Matt is reportedly open to working as a backstage agent and producer for the WWE.

Quick Hits – GLOW has been renewed for a third season on Netflix.  New Japan Pro Wrestling has a six month window to defend a title, but Hiromu Takahashi has vacated his Light Heavyweight Championship after suffering a broken neck earlier this year.  David Arquette and former rival RJ City will face off with James Ellsworth and Frank the Clown (Noelle Foley’s boyfriend or ex, not sure) on September 2nd at Warrior Wrestling 2.  The Jackson’s and Cody Rhodes revealed today that Matt Jackson did in fact pitch a price and opponent to CM Punk for their September 1st show, but the feeling is that Punk isn’t interested.
