Power Rangers 25th Anniversary News, Sweet New Game Trailer and More! – ComicCorp News

Power Ranger 25th Anniversary News – Word is that the August 28th will see the return of many classic Power Rangers for the long running series 25th anniversary special.  The episode will air on the same day the original series debuted 25 years ago at 8 p.m. EST.

Nickelodeon, the network that owns the TV rights to Power Rangers, has released the first look at some returning stars.  Firstly there’s obviously Jason David Frank, who has been a part of most every major reunion and celebration event in the show’s history.  He’ll be reprising his character Tommy Oliver, who will return with his iconic Green Dragon Ranger morpher.

Also returning is Tommy’s former ex, Kat Hiillard (Catherine Sutherland).  Like Tommy, Kat was around during the Mighty Morphin, Zeo and Turbo era’s of the series.  She’ll rock her least used version, the Turbo Ranger morpher.

Joining them will be Tim Force Ranger Wes Collins (Jason Faunt).  More names are expected to be announced.

New Dead Cells Trailer – A new trailer for the side scrolling dungeon explorer Dead Cells has debuted but…I think it’s ruined the game.  The 2D action game is set to debut on August 7th for consoles, even though it’s been on Steam since last year.

The game has generic but nice looking graphics.  It looks like so many other games. However, the new trailer gave the game a different look entirely.  A completely animated trailer, which shows the more humorous side of the game, but also a more eye catching animated look.  With such a stark departure from the graphics to the trailer animation, I feel its going to lead people to disappointment, thinking their getting a unique experience instead of a Castlevania type game.

For me, I’d never seen the original game before, so when I saw this new trailer and then looked up the game, I was disappointed to see such a stark difference in the games design to the game’s trailer. It is great though, so watch the trailer below;

Quick Hits – LeBron James and Space Jam 2 are eyeing Terence Nance to direct the long rumored sequel.  Disney wants to void a deal with Turner Broadcast they made in 2016 in order to get back the television rights to Star Wars; so they can put the films on their streaming service.  Turner would want replacement content and compensation before any deal is agreed to.
