Rey Returning to WWE Soon? Becky Lynch on Tag Team Division and More! – WrestleCorp News

Mysterio and Bryan Update – Rey Mysterio is apparently “very close” to signing a new deal with the WWE according to Dave Meltzer.  Rey has been rumored to return since January but his NJPW commitments and his appearance at Cody Rhode’s “All In” have kept him from making a deal.  The rumor goes on to allege that he’ll be signing soon after September 1st.

Bryan on the other hand is still talking deal with the WWE.  Bryan is asking for a lot, a lot more than the WWE usually gives to people.  However many believe  a deal will be done.  I personally am not sold on it.  Bryan has a bucket-list of things he’d like to do in wrestling and he can’t do it if he signs another 3-5 year deal with the WWE.

Becky Lynch on WWE Women’s Tag Team Title – While my plan makes more sense, Becky Lynch feels just unifying the women’s roster and killing the brand split would be best for the WWE’s rumored women’s tag team division.  My idea?  Move the women all over to RAW.  It’s not like they don’t have the time to utilize more women.  While talking to The Wrestling Compadres Podcast, she revealed her idea in more detail, saying;

We have all these women in the Mae Young Classic and have so many girls and having such a deep roster.  We still have a shallow side – not shallow, but there are a few women on either side of Raw and SmackDown. We probably have like 8-10 on either side, so that is kind of tricky do a tag title and Women’s title, but if we can combine and go through all the different things and connect, not sure if that is possible, but who knows.

Quick Hits – Some believe Glenn Jacobs (Kane) will win the Knox County Mayoral race today against Democrat Linda Haney.  Maria Kanellis starts up at the Performance Center this week to get back into shape for a WWE return.  Former IMPACT star Gunner, now known as Jaxson Ryker has formed a new version of the Faces of Fear with Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake.  Big Cass will now be known as Big Cazz on the indies.  Brilliant.  WWE is interested in Pentagon and Fenix, according to Meltzer, but they still have three seasons on their Lucha Underground deals.  Matt Riddle hinted that he’s signing somewhere major soon, with all fingers pointing to the WWE as the landing spot.
