‘Titans’ Debuts Trailer, New Green Lantern Book by DC Legend and More! – ComicCorp News

Titans Trailer Debuts – It’s ComicCon and that means that we’re going to be getting a lot of news this week.  Firstly, we got our first look at Titans.  The series is TV-MA aka Rated R.  One of the more iconic lines from the trailer is “…fuck Batman.”  And then essentially saw Dick Grayson break the neck of a villain.  Clearly not your mother’s Robin.  The series sports some decent CGI and interesting storylines’s, which sees Raven looking for Grayon for help.

New Green Lantern Series – Well, hold on to your butts.  Grant Morrison will write a new series called The Green Lantern, which will feature Hal Jordan.  Liam Sharp, who’s been providing art for the Wonder Woman series, will handle the art for this book.  Morrison is pulling back on the epic-nature of the Lantern Corp’s usual stories, by saying to IGN;

The basic concept is that [Hal Jordan] is like a space cop that patrols a sector of the universe where anything can happen.We’ve made it more like a police procedural.

Instead of the big, epic, 12-part stories, we’re focusing down on the everyday life of a space cop.  Basically, it’s no more apocalypse-ending storylines.

New Batman/Joker Series – Marc Silvestri will debut a new Batman series called Batman/Joker: Deadly Duo.  Silvestri commented on the new book by saying;

As you’ve probably guessed, I’m working on Batman. It’s a Batman/Joker team up. We’d talked about it and I couldn’t believe that it hadn’t been done before at least not a serious level.  It would be full of dramatic and comedic moments. I’ve been wanting to do this story for 20 years.

The premise is that someone is screwing around with the Joker really hard and Joker can’t deal with it it. He can’t handle it. So Joker makes it so that Batman has to help him. Joker takes Jim Gordon and holds him hostage — not even Joker knows where he is — and uses that to make Batman help him. Little pieces of Gordon keep showing up and Joker says ‘look, we’re going to run out of pieces that aren’t important here soon.’

Quick Hits – DC will announce a fourth DC Universe series at ComicCon today.
