WWE Bringing Back Classic Show? W.O.S. Trailer Released and More! – WrestleCorp News

SNME Returning? – Rumor has it that Saturday Night’s Main Event, or a show similar to that, is set for a return in late 2018 or early 2019.  Brad Shepard of BodySlam.Net is claiming that Fox is bringing back Saturday Night Main Event when the WWE bring SmackDown over to the network next year.

However, Dave Meltzer is refuting that rumor by saying;

I know I’ve seen a rumor and all that. I suppose it’s possible it’s true. I asked both sides if they think it’s true and they said no.

Considering Saturday Night Main Event was done in an era where pay per views were so rare for the company, it makes no sense financially for them to do it.  Nor does it make sense programming-wise.  They already have a high volume of content.  It would make more sense for a program like IMPACT Wrestling to pursue something like this, and they kind of are already with their revamped One Night Only’s and their Twitch shows.

World of Sport Trailer Released – The anticipation for the revival of World of Sport is growing each day.  Just recently ITV released a trailer for the upcoming relaunch, which you can see below.  Former WWE stars Davey Boy Smith Jr and Wade Barrett headline the roster, with Barrett serving as the authority figure and color commentator.  IMPACT stars Moose, and Grado are also attached to the project going forward as well.  NJPW star, Will Osprey makes a few appearances but it’s unknown how involved he is.  Top British stars like Joe Hendry, Rampage Brown and Sha Samuels are also attached.  Lionheart, the man whom AJ Styles wrestled and broke the neck of, is also wrestling for the show, as well as British wrestling legend Doug Williams.  Kay Lee Ray, Bea Priestley and Viper round out the top women on the show.  Priestley and Osprey are currently involved romantically, adding to the growing trends of couples working together.

Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling (IMPACT?) was attached to the revival when it was first announced but no word on if they’re still working together and whom are all involved.

MLW Parts Ways With MVP – Former WWE and IMPACT wrestler MVP has parted ways with Major League Wrestling.  The former IWPG Intercontinental Champion posted to his social media page to announce his departure, citing it to be an unfortunate situation.  The current word making its rounds is an issue with pay.  MVP has been fired now from three major companies over issues with the company, parting ways with IMPACT over his handling of the Hernandez contract (who was still with LU) and again with Lucha Underground over some backstage issues.

Quick Hits – NJPW has revealed that they currently have 100k subscribers for their New Japan World streaming service, with nearly half (40k) of them being foreign to Japan.   During the weekend, Jay Lethal won the ROH World Heavyweight Championship for the 2nd time, defeating Dalton Castle, Cody Rhodes, and Matt Taven in a 4-way.
