Icon Passes Away, Why Was Cass Fired? and More! – WrestleCorp News

Big Van Vader Passes Away – Using his father’s Twitter account, Jesse White announced this morning that his father, legendary pro wrestler Leon White (aka Big Van Vader) has passed away after about of pneumonia. Vader had been making amazing recovery after heart surgery several months ago, but unfortunately he became ill last month and despite improving, his heart eventually gave out. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and heartfelt gratitude to he and his family as well for years of entertaining all of us. Vader was a heel’s heel, a lost art in today’s pro landscape. Known for his brutality and lack of remorse, Vader steamrolled his way to dominance in WCW, NJPW, AJPW and even Pro Wrestling NOAH. A sad blip though was his run in WWE, where he netted no real accomplishments despite at one time being booked to be their top heel.

He’s the only man ever to hold the WCW World Heavyweight, IWGP Heavyweight and All Japan Triple Crown Championship. He’s a genuine first ballot Hall of Famer and we thank you for all the years of action.

Why Was Big Cass Released? – It appears that Big Cass and Enzo Amore have more in common tan a lot of people think.  Cass apparently had built a list of indiscretions that rubbed people the wrong way.  The incident on SmackDown where he went off script and attacked a mini-wrestler impersonating Daniel Bryan was the start of it.  Then he was reportedly drunk in public during the European tour, which really soured officials on Cass.  Then apparently there was a bathroom incident on the tour bus during the trip, where Cass broke down the door of the restroom from inside after the locking mechanism broke.  His attitude, on top of a variety of incidents caused this to be the breaking point for the company.

Quick Hits – Shawn Michaels claims he doesn’t want to put in the work anymore in order to wrestle.   Rey Mysterio claims that he’s waiting on the WWE at this point on if he returns or not to the company.  Rumors have him negotiating a three year, part time deal.
