Batgirl Gets New Costume – Batgirl is set to get a new costume alongside her new creative team.  Sean Gordon Murphy redesigned the costume for the books new staff.  It’s anchored by writer Mairghread Scott, with art by Paul Pelletier and Elena Casagrande.   Scott commented on the new suit, saying;

This is supposed to be a version of the costume that she was working on when she still lived with her dad.  That’s why it looks so much like her original Batgirl: Year One outfit — like, she’s with her dad. She can’t get out back to Burnside, and this is like the emergency. So the version that she was working on [back in the day] that she had stashed here just in case. It helps us with the story a little bit too, because it’s a little less bright — we wanted her to be more stealthy, and we want her to be able to integrate some more tech with the belt.

The intriguing thing about Batgirl is that her mobility is being threatened due to a failing implant in her spine.  The issue stems back to win The Joker paralyzed her in the events of The Killing Joke.

DC TV Adds New Regulars – Supergirl has upped Jesse Rather, aka Brainiac 5 for the shows fourth season.  Rath appeared in the show’s third season as they introduced more and more Legion characters, including Saturn Girl.  Over on The Flash, Hartley Sawyer was moved to a series regular as well, so we’ll be seeing more and more of Elongated Man.

Quick Hits – As we talked about, the Aquaman trailer will finally debut at ComicCon in San Diego.   Dan Harmon has confirmed that the long breaks between season for Rick and Morty are over.  Netflix has picked up Lucifer mere hours before contracts expired.
