Andrew Lincoln Gone from Walking Dead? We Have a New Spawn and More! – ComicCorpNews

Rick Grimes Gone from Walking Dead? – Andrew Lincoln is packing up his southern accent and departing the hit AMC show after nine years.  ComicBook, com claims to have confirmed this news from several sources.   They claim that he’s departure will be formally announced ahead of season 9’s final episodes, which is the upcoming season.

In more bad news for the show, Maggie Green, aka Laura Cohan is only coming back for half of the episodes in season nine.  Both Maggie and Rick are core characters of the Walking Dead comics, which are still playing out.  The reason for Lincoln’s departure seems to be a desire to return home to the UK more frequently and to see his family more, and of course, burn out from the product.    There’s also a new showrunner coming in, Angela Kang and maybe that might have something to do with it.

It’s Official: We Have a New Spawn – Despite my pleads to the gods of comicbooks, we did not get the decision I was hoping for.  It’s confirmed; Jamie Foxx is the new Spawn…..UGH.  Originally played by Michael Jai White, Spawn first cracked into live action in 1997.  The film was marred in several issues and was seen as a disappointment, but Jai White was seen as a true standout and many fans were hoping for his return.   While that wasn’t the case, Foxx does bring a heft Hollywood name, and many fans still cite “Django Unchained” as proof that Foxx can carry an action film on his ow merits.  I’ll pass more judgement when the trailer drops.

PUBG Suing Fortnite – All of the parties involved are terrible.  Bluehole, the developer of Player Unknown Battleground, or PUBG, has filed a lawsuit against South Korean developer Epic Games.  The Korea Times is reporting the lawsuit is over Bluehole claiming Epic Games infringed on their copyright.   There’s no detail as to what copyright they’re claiming as of now.

Quick Hits – Rosario Dawson seemed to claim that her stint in the  may MCU end after “Luke Cage’s” second season.  Shane Snow of the (non wrestling) Observer has revealed in an interview that George Takei’s sexual assault accuser has changed his stories, walking back his claims.  ThatHashtagShow is reporting that ‘Arrow’ may be bringing in Ted Kord, but its also possible the character sheet interview they’re referring to may just be an original character.  Paul Rudd is in consideration for the voice of “Sonic the Hedgehog”.
