Daniel Bryan Contract Update, Stardom Talent Coming In After All? and More! – WrestleCorp News

Daniel Bryan Contract Update – There’s been numerous rumors regarding the status of Daniel Bryan’s contract at the moment. With the WWE seemingly not backing him, and leaving him in the mid card, this has lead many people to assume that he has yet to re-sign a contract. As the WWE has a history of burying talent who are on their way out, this isn’t too uncommon. To try and clear up rumors; despite his booking, the day his contract is up, he’s free and legally speaking there should be no 90 day non-compete clause. That would only be applicable (legally) if he were fired 91/90 days before his deal was up.  As of right now, no one can confirm or deny he’s signed a new day but the way he’s been booked, the opportunity that the indy market has, and the fact he has a a wrestling wish list, all seem to point that the former American Dragon may very well be looking outside of his current WWE contract.

Top Joshi Name Coming In? – It was originally reported that Stardom talent Io Shirai would not be coming in due to an alleged neck injury.  However,  Tokyo Sports is revealing that she’s not back from the WWE due to a neck injury but rather “anxiety” about moving from Japan to the United States.   Joining the WWE is a big time dream for Shirai.  Shirai has since written a blog post, detailing her departure from Stardom.

Quick Hits – Rusev was interviewed by TV+ and revealed that as of today, he has no intentions of leaving the company.  John Cena revealed at MegaCon Convention that he would like to face off with former IMPACT Ace, EC3.  CM Punk and Colt Cabana’s trial has begun today in earnest, according to PWInsider.
