Major News for ‘All In’, and More! – WrestleCorp News

All In Main Event Confirmed and More! – It was announced today at the All In press conference today that Cody Rhodes will face off with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion at the All In even on September 1st.  Right now that man is Nick Aldis, and will more than likely still be come the event, but obviously they played it coy and said “but that could change.” It won’t.  Corgan’s desire to restore the NWA is built around Aldis, and there’s few reasons I can see to take the belt of of him, unless you have to.  I could easily see Cody though taking the belt off of him at All In.

The press conference concluded with the Young Bucks introducing Rey Mysterio as the next person to be “All In”.  They showed an image of his mask, as the “A” in ‘All In”, but he wasn’t there himself.  The Bucks tweeted out the image first on Twitter before making it known to everyone in attendance.

Charlotte Flair Update – To update from last week, PWInsider is saying that Charlotte Flair had dental surgery in Europe after breaking several teeth in her match with Carmella. She didn’t work the rest of the tour and did fly home but not for any medical reason. Apparently she was set to take partin the Needham & Company’s 2018 Emerging Technology Conference in New York, alongside WWE Co-President Michelle Wilson. Why? I don’t know.

NJPW Hires New President – New Japan Pro Wrestling has hired their first ever non-Japanese President in Harold Meij.  The 54 year old Dutchmen will replace Katsuhiko Harada.  Meij was CEO of TOMY a Japanese toy company and has lived in Japan for over 30 years.  Meij is credited is as helping TOMY rebound from a dismal 2014 to it’s most profitable year in 2017.

Quick Hits – Several outlets are reporting that the ‘All In’ event has already sold out in about a half hour.  SoCalUncesnored is reporting that Human Tornado, who just returned from retirement not that long ago, has to retire once again due to mounting back issues.  The once promising prospect wrestled his last match at the UEW show in Sun Valley, California.   CM Punk will head to trial against Chris Amann later this month, stemming from comments he made to Colt Cabana in 2014 after his departure.  WWE announced that Ronda Rousey will face off with Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank.  It’s been revealed that Chris Jericho was on standby to replace Shane McMahon at WrestleMania if Shane couldn’t wrestle.  Riddick Moss has torn his Achilles tendon and will miss 8 months.
