Power Rangers Have New Owner, Zoe Saldana Talks Marvel Fatigue and More! – ComicCorp News

Power Rangers Have New Owners – Well good bye, Saban.  We barely knew thee.  Hasbro INC. has agreed to acquire the Power Ranger franchise from Saban Entertainment for around $520 million in cash and stock according to Reuters.  The decision to acquire the property goes beyond the toy aspect and into the diversification of it’s assets.  The Power Ranger franchise has more equity in film and t.v. as opposed to other Hasbro assets like Monopoly and My Little Pony.  Partnered with “Transformers”, this move strengthens the gaming giant in a time where the largest toy retailer chain has since gone out of business; Toys R’ Us.    They’ll also acquire at least ‘Luna Petunia’ and ‘Popples’, with more being possible.   Currently Hasbro Studios is producing the ‘Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters’ series on Netflix.

Zoe Saldana Talks James Cameron – James Cameron made waves over the last few months after criticizing ‘Wonder Woman’ and saying he hopes fans tire of the MCU.  This obviously garnered a lot of negative attention on Cameron, because the Internet is an awful place where non-popular opinions get met with death threats and the like.  Saldana is not just a star of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films but also Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ franchise.   So when asked about his comments, Saldana took a tactful approach, saying;

No. [Laughs] My advice for people is to read full articles and not just believe a soundbite.  Because usually, soundbites are very mean-spirited and they’re just done for the intention of getting more likes and more views — it’s not really with the intention of educating and informing the public. So for all those educated intellectuals out there that like to stay current with news, just read the full article and you will understand where James Cameron was coming from. I know that all the Marvel producers did because they read it.
