IMPACT Redemption News – Last night at IMPACT’s Redemption pay per view event, we got to see unveiling of new titles for the core four belts, as well as new champions in Scott Steiner and El Drake winning the IMPACT Tag Team Championships and Pentagon Jr. winning the IMPACT World Championship. Also on the show last night, Tessa Blanchard debuted with the promotion, joining commentary for the Kiera Hogan/Taya Valkyrie match.  It’s also be reported that Grado was backstage last night, with rumors of his return to t.v. being eminent.  It’s also being reported that Alberto El Patron was slated to win the IMPACT World title last night, prior to his firing.  And finally, it was announced that Slammiversary XVI will be going to Toronto at the Rebel Complex on July 22nd.

Brock Lesnar’s Contract Update – Fox Sports is reporting that Brock Lesnar is set to make $637,000 a match, and $127,000 for t.v. appearances.  He’ll also receive 6% of his merch sales, which is an increase figure from what most wrestlers make.  The WWE did get something back though, as they’ll be able to use Brock’s likeness in merchandising

 

Update on ROH Fight – We talked last week of a fight happening backstage at a ROH T.V. tapings.  We knew Flip Gordon was involved but there was no details about the event.  Today we have some though  According to The Observer, the fight started when an ‘extra’ who was brought in for t.v. sat down in Christopher Daniels’ chair.  After refusing to get up, Flip Gordon came over, and the fight broke out.  This apparently lead to many in the locker room gaining some respect for Gordon.  Frankie Kazarian took to social media to condemn the situation, claiming that this was something that didn’t belong at this level of the industry.

 

AJPW Matriarch Passes Away – It’s wit ha heavy heart that we announce All Japan Pro Wrestling’s matriarch, Motoko Baba has passed away at 78. The former wife of the legendary Giant Baba had ran AJPW from 1999 to 2002 when she seeded control to Keiji Mutoh.  She stayed on as a counselor and a supporting rule until Jun Akiyama took control in 2014.

 

Quick Hits – Mike Johnson is reporting that Neville is still just sitting at home, waiting for his release.  PWInsider is reporting that five World of Sport tapings are scheduled for May 10th-May 12th, which will be the second attempt this year to relaunch the iconic UK based promotion.  Rumor has it that Samoa Joe was moved from RAW to SmackDown to keep him away from Roman Reigns’ during Reigns summer push.  Congratulations go out to The Rock and his significant other Lauren who have welcomed their second child recently, Rock’s third overall.
