‘Arrow’ Gets New Show Runner, Josh Brolin on Turning Down Zack Snyder and More! – ComicCorp News

‘Arrow’ to Get New Show Runner – Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle have been removed as show runners for the seventh season of ‘Arrow’.  Replacing them will be Beth Schwartz, who wrote for ‘Arrow’ back in season one and has been working on Legends of Tomorrow.  I’m not too fond of bringing anyone from any show to do ‘Arrow’.  The last two seasons have been spectacular and to bring anyone in from ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ to take over the helm of my favorite show makes me anxious.

Josh Brolin talks DC Films – Josh Brolin was interviewed recently and talked about his role in DC Comic films, and why he’s not that interested at the moment to do more.  When asked about Jonah Hex, he said;

That was my fault. I had really good intentions.  He was right on the verge of saying yes. I think the movie would have turned out closer to my intention, which was High Plains Drifter.

When asked if he stayed away from Comic Book movies as a rule, he said;

Is it deliberate? Almost. It’s not that I turned them down. It’s just not what I wanted to do at that moment. The bigger things, I just stayed away from.

When asked about working with Zack Snyder in the DCEU, he said;
We indirectly talked about it, but we never got to the point because I wasn’t the guy for him.  I’m really glad it didn’t happen. I haven’t thought twice about it.
I hope Brolin finds more success in Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.  He’s a heck of a talent and even though he crashed and burned in the DC universe so far, here’s hoping he does more work with them.

Quick Hits – Lynda Carter confirms talks to appear in ‘Wonder Woman 2’.  Kyle Higgins, writer of the Power Rangers comic has hinted that more villains will be popping up in the hotly received ‘Shattered Grid’ story line.  Cary Elwes and Jake Busey will be joining the 3rd season of ‘Stranger Things’.  Star Trek parody “Unbelievable!!!” has a new trailer out, starring Snoop Dog and a bundle of Star Trek alumni.
