Cena/Undertaker WrestleMania Theory – The Other Side

I’m writing this at 3 in the morning on Tuesday.  Don’t ask why, but also don’t think this took me forever to do.  I just felt the urge to look at the Undertaker/John Cena (lack there of) segment from last night.  Cena called out The Undertaker at four consecutive RAW’s in a row but never once got an answer.

Dave Meltzer has been saying for months that the plan is for ‘Taker/Cena at this year’s WrestleMania.  Meltzer is rarely young, but is it possible he’s wrong this time?  Is it possible that Meltzer was fed some nonsense?  Probably, yeah.

Here’s what I know:
The Undertakre has a fake hip after hip replacement surgery last summer.  Athletes cannot return to physical contact activities after such an injury.  That means no bumping or working.  So, in theory, the Undertaker can’t be cleared to wrestle if the WWE is to have insurance and properly licensed events.

Here’s what I think:
The WWE tried to get The Undertaker cleared for weeks prior.  Yet, can’t get it done.  Louisiana is known for their super strict rules to combat sports, which applies to pro wrestling.  So instead of outright announcing it, the WW teased it just in case they couldn’t do it.  I believe that the official word is that The Undertaker would not be cleared for a match.  nor should he, in reality.

Here’s how I believe this will play out:
There will be no announcement.  John Cena will get a segment on the show, where The Undertaker will come out.  Cena will put him down with an AA and that’ll be the segment.  It’s a loophole.  The Undertaker can perform but not in a match.  I’m not sure the WWE’s liabilities with performers not in matches but I have to assume it’s lower than the actual competitors.

Will the WWE keep the Undertaker off the show despite his precised inability to ever compete again?  No, I think to have zero payoff to this whole ordeal would be horrific to the company.  However, i don’t think they’re going to have much of a pay off, as a brawl between these two men seems to be the only thing that could happen, and might be the one thing fans don’t want to see.

This is why you don’t keep going to the well so often, Vince.
