‘Smallville’ Star to be Arrested? Toonami Steps Up Their April Fools Prank and More! – ComicCorp News

Allison Mack to be Arrested? – We mentioned on Thursday night that Keith Raniere had been arrested by Mexican officials and will be extradited back to the United States for alleged crimes of sex trafficking.   While the story is far more harrowing and deep than what I’ll give it time for today, I urge you to do your own digging into this disaster of a life.  Apparently Raniere is known to brainwash people, in order to turn them into he and his minions sex slaves.  One of his most known advocates is Allison Mack of Smallville.

Mack and former co-star Kristen Kruek joined the alleged cult during their time on Smallville. Kruek joined in 2005/2006 before allegedly bringing Mack in with her.  Frank Parlarto, who broke the story (that no one but us picked up on originally) last summer is claiming that Mack, like Kruek were brought in to help lure other women and were essentially used.  However, Mack has since been accused of being the one to bring up branding those who followed the teachings.   Kruek claims she left the cult around 2012 before any illegal apparently took place.

It’s estimated that a total of 16,000 people paid as much as $5,000 for workshops offered by Nxivm.  While many people are looking at Mack as someone who was part of the problem, many are claiming that Raniere was the one brainwashing and leading the charge, even recruiting Catherine Oxenberg’s daughter, India into the program.   Lost in this whole ordeal is the fact that Battlestar Galactica alum Nicki Clyne is also involved in this, but to what degree is unknown.  There may be more known actors in this cult for all we know, but that’s anyone’s guess for now.

New Dragon Ball Saiyan? – Despite the current anime franchise ending, Dragon Ball Legends is picking up the franchise and released a new Saiyan character!

The character will debut in the iOS and Android mobile phone game that will see a new player character going up against old foes.  The new Saiyan is named “Shallout” and fans are pretty  happy with him.  The Game is currently in testing now.

Alex Ross is Too Good – Alex Ross is arguably the best artist of his generation, with realistic renders of classic characters.  His work on books like ‘Kingdom Come’ and various covers across the many books in this fine world of ours  has earned him a legacy and style all his own. With Action Comics #1000 right around the corner, Ross has published his very own take on the iconic cover in the form of a lithograph.  The title of the work is called ‘More Powerful Than a Locomotive’.    It was done in collaboration with SyFy Wire.  And good news, if you have $200 to spend, a copy of it can be yours!

April Fools on Toonami – Toonami does a lot of things well, and one of them is definitely take care of their fans.  Well instead of airing their known schedule tonight, which for many is the start of April Fool’s Day in the States, Toonami switched things up.  Instead they opted to air the first episode of the upcoming anime FLCL: Alternative, the revival of the FLCL anime.

CW Announces Shows Getting Another Season – We talked about this briefly on air Thursday, but ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘Black Lighting’,  and ‘Dynasty’ have all been announced for news seasons.  The five DC shows and Supernatural were all considered locks, especially ‘Supernatural’, who have earned the ability to call it quits on their terms.  Not bad for a show that was only scripted for five seasons.

The four that remain on the block are ‘iZombie’, ‘The 100’, and new comers ‘Life Sentence’ and ‘Valor’.  ‘Life Sentence’ is a genre show who’s genre never lasts.   Fox had a show like this, so did FreeForm, among others, and they rarely get a second season.  Keep in mind that this has the biggest and most expensive star (Lucy Hale), it needed to produce early.   ‘Valor’ was really well done with a decent mystery, but it doesn’t carry much in the way of teen appeal.  ‘The 100’ is constantly delayed to the back half’s, but who knows.  ‘iZombie’ may get another life, due to the shocking failure of ‘Life Sentence’ and the addition of a sixth night.  Gotta have shows to air, and cancelling all four of these with that new Sunday night slot opening is bad business.  I’m not saying it’s not possible all four get the ax, but I do believe one will survive.  I’m putting money on ‘iZombie’.

Quick Hits – Despite a brief cameo in the second episode of the ‘Crisis on Earth X’ crossover, former ‘Arrow’ actor Colin Donnell will reprise his role as Tommy Merlyn in episode 21 of ‘Arrow’ this year.  It is believed to be a flashback he appears in.  Not that anyone asked for it but you can expect a “Hawkeye” stand alone movie with the writers of ‘Infinity War’ set to write the script.
