Mark Millar Done with Marvel/DC? ‘Death Stranding’ Mystery Solved and More! – ComicCorp News

Who’s Starring in ‘Death Stranding’ – Hideo Kojima’s ‘Death Stranding’ made waves when it introduced Norman Reedus as the games most notable face.  Then it kicked it up even more with the announcement of Guilleromo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen joining to the project.  (Del Toro’s likeness is being used only).   Right now a new female protagonist has popped up and no one knows who’s playing her yet.  However, a sleuth on the internet believes it to be Diane Kruger.  We know that she worked on a project with motion capture, either hinting at a video game or a CGI film project.  This all speculation but ComicBook broke down some of the more circumstantial evidence.   So you can check out more of the rumor’s details at that link.

Mark Millar Done With Major Two – The Major two in comics have just lost a major talent, as ‘Old Man Logan’ and ‘Superman: Red Son’ writer Mark Miller has claimed he’s no longer interested in working for the two comic-giants.  In a Twitter exchange with a fan, who asked him about his DC/Marvel future, Millar said he’s working on TV shows and movies for Netflix.   Yet, it was the third thing Millar revealed that’s interesting.   Netflix apparently is also doing comics now too….We know that Netflix bought a lot of properties’ rights, recently and that they have several of their own properties they can turn into comics, i.e. “Stranger Things”.  What I’m curious though is to see if Netflix intends on launching their own comic book line, or simply work with, say, IDW like other TV and Movie properties do.

Netflix did acquire his Millarworld Imprint, so that very well be the line they’re talking about.  However, it should be noted that while it was his line, he distributed them through companies like Top Cow and Dark Horse.  Are we about to see a ‘Netflix’ publisher starring his Millarworld imprint?

Marvel Announces ‘Infinity Wars’ – Marvel’s weak attempt to do their own chain of ‘Crisis’ comics (ala DC), is still ongoing.  Marvel announced today “Infinity Wars”, not to be confused with the film ‘Infinity War’, or the 2013 book ‘Infinity’, or the 1992 series “Infinity War”, or the ‘Infinity Countdown’ (pick.a.new.gimmick), will debut this July.  The book, entitled “Infinity Wars: Prime #1” will be handled creatively by Gerry Duggan and Mike Deodato Jr, and Fred Martin.

Quick Hits – Honest Trailers released a ‘Last Jedi’ video, that’ll surely reignite the (one sided) debate about ‘Last Jed’ (being awful and fuck you if you didn’t think so….jk)

Ironically enough, Laura Dern just came out and revealed her character in ‘Last Jedi’ is Force-sensitive.  Which leads me to the question; why didn’t the Force suggest telling everyone her very simple plan?  What a terrible film. ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ star Rachel Bloom to debut next week on ‘iZombie’.  ‘New Mutants’ and ‘Dark Phoenix’ have been delayed until 2019 due to reshoots.  An ominous sign indeed.  John Cena is confirmed for ‘Duke Nukem’ adaptation.  There’s a new ‘Velma and Daphne’ film coming out from Ashley Tisdale, do yourself a favor and avoid watching this cringe inducing trailer.   SCOOPYNATURAL IS THIS WEEK THOUGH!”  And because we’re all about comics, video games and pro wrestling on this site, here’s Zelina Vega and Billie Kay cosplaying sexy-ninjas…aka Mortal Kombat characters.  You’re welcome.
