IMPACT Returning to the UK? Speculation About Bray Wyatt’s Future and More! – WrestleCorp News

IMPACT Wrestling Touring UK? – The good folks on IMPACT’s UK Twitter account seemed to hint at an upcoming tour of the UK for the company.

Now, in what may be a reveal to the tweet from IMPACT, a Twitter user named @jonathanhrs tweeted me the following image which seemed to reveal a joint UK tour featuring several other wrestling promotions coming together for a two night tour.

The tour is set for September 8th and 9th at the BEC Manchester Arena.  YouTube personalities like Cultaholics, Botchamania and WrestleTalkTV are all set to appear at the event.  Is this the event that IMPACT Wrestling was hinting at on their UK Twitter account? Probably, yeah.  But we’ll see.

(*Update*)
I write these news posts in chunks, and this story was written late last night.  Today, IMPACT confirmed that they are in fact returning as part of this convention.  They released a formal press release;

Bray Wyatt Done? –  There are rumblings from some that speculate Bray Wyatt may be done within the WWE.    Matt Hardy released a short follow up to the Ultimate Deletion, and within it he stated that he now has Wyatt’s soul., thus ending the character, in theory.  When I asked around no one knew what was up with Wyatt’s WWE standing.  One source said they thought Wyatt was getting repackaged, while another source said that they wouldn’t be surprised if they wrote Wyatt off for good. They told me that the general feeling for the Ultimate Deletion was disappointment among some backstage and those who were upset were due to  how it looked, as it was a shot by an amateur; Matt’s wife Reby. The source speculated to me that a theory that’s been tossed around backstage by some is that the WWE probably aired it to formally write off Wyatt.  It was heavily emphasized that some weren’t too happy with the product, which is why it wasn’t shown in the arena during the show.  And they continued speculating that they probably would of pulled it from the show if they weren’t sending off Wyatt.  Again, this is merely speculation .  Being backstage at WWE events is akin to being in high school I’m told, where there’s far more rumor than fact and no one wants to be the one to verify any news.

Sean Waltman Shows Surprising Foresight – Sean Waltman has a rocky reputation in the world of pro wrestling, and one that frankly has been earned.  However, Waltman showed a surprising amount of clarity and class.  When Mark Henry was inducted, Sean Waltman was silent about the matter.  Why?  Cus back in 1998, Waltman dressed up as Mark Henry, clad in black face.  Henry was never upset over it and actually ok with it but Waltman now isn’t.  So in order to not bring up a proverbial black eye involving Henry’s legacy, Waltman remained mum on the induction, hoping that Mark could have his night without someone bringing this up.  Here’s his full quote;

There were so many people that were congratulating Mark on Twitter and I didn’t… I purposely avoided it so people didn’t bring up me dressing up in blackface like Mark. Not that I’m afraid. I just didn’t want to insert that into the Hall of Fame conversation. He was fine with it, but I’m not fine with it now. That’s all. And there was nothing bad meant by it, but the things I know now, I’m a little embarrassed by it.

I think that shows a major level of humility and majority from Waltman to realize their history isn’t exactly the most PC thing going today, and to refrain from commenting on the matter for now.   Kudo’s, Sean.

Quick Hits – Gail Kim has announced that Allie has been booked against Taya Valkyrie for the Knockout Championship at IMPACT and Lucah’s duel show for WrestleCon.  IMPACT Wrestling garners their second largest audience of 2018 this week, gaining 362,000 for the week.  This is also the third highest rating in the calendar year.  Molly Holly will induct Ivory into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
