Bryan Returned Confirmed, Remembering that CM Punk/Teddy Hart Fight and More! – WrestleCorp News

Daniel Bryan to Return – Let’s get this out of the way, Daniel Bryan is cleared.  He’s passed every test and can resume his in ring career after nearly three years of not being able to due to WWE Doctors say so.  Will he leave?  Still a good chance at that.  They did cost him three years.  Will he be as good as he once was?  Probably not, three years is a lot, but he’ll still be pretty damn good I bet.  Was announcing it in the middle of the afternoon the way to go?  Absolutely not.  What a dumb thing to do when your shows are struggling for exciting moments.  We’ll talk specifically this one tonight on WrestleCorp (10 p.m. EST on mixlr.com/NerdCorp).

CM Punk Jobbed to a Hart – CM Punk is now known for his MMA career, for good or bad.  One fateful day in 2003 though, Punk had a run in with Teddy Hart, nephew to Bret Hart.  The two men had long had issues and on this day it finally blew up.  The fight they had at the little diner near the Nashville Fairgrounds, home to the old Asylum, is well known to all but todya Bill Behrens weighed in.  Behrens is a wrestling agent as well as a former agent for IMPACT Wrestling when they were TNA.  He talked about the fight on HannivalTV and put over Teddy being the dominant aggressor, saying;

It was like a really bad UFC fight in that… all of a sudden to the left, there’s a fight that has literally just started. From the very beginning, it was takedown by Teddy, Punk down, and Teddy’s just destroying him.  I think Sabu was walking up with this, but regardless Sabu ran in and got Teddy to focus on him. He broke for Sabu, so Sabu did the save for Punk on that particular one.

The whole thing, if it lasted more than 20 seconds I’d be surprised. It was short, Punk had no offense and was just covering up.  He also wasn’t badly scarred out of it either because Teddy was pulled off pretty quickly, it wasn’t like it lasted a long time. But there was no chance, at least from what we were seeing, that Punk was going to get much of a comeback out of it.

Quick Hits – I’m being told, but take this with a grain of salt, that The Ultimate Deletion did not go over well backstage with officials and many were underwhelmed with it.  Michael Cole’s off the cuff remark was rumored to have been done so to express the overall attitude towards it.  The Revival are the first two into the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.  Despite working hurt, AJ Styles will still work WrestleMania.  Big Cass was backstage last night but not used.  The WWE had a dark segment last night with Ronda Rousey, you can watch it here;
