Exciting New ‘Avengers’ Trailer, ‘Detective Comics’ to Get Shocking Addition and More! – ComicCorp News

New Gods Going Forward? As we discussed last night on ComicCorp, Ava DuVernay will be directing the upcoming “New Gods” film, which took many people by surprise.   Firstly, DuVernay isn’t the first person you think of when you think action flicks, nor is she coming off a particularly strong outing with her massive budgeted Disney film, “A Wrinkle in Time”.   Yet, despite her not being on many people’s short lists for DC Comics Directors, the biggest surprise wasn’t her, but the film she was handling.   The New Gods aren’t exactly upper echelon comic characters in DC, and to prioritize them before other is interesting.   Is this DC’s answer to Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”?   Let’s hope not, as the story should be more akin to “Game of Thrones” in space, or Star Wars with meta’s and not Quippy Average Piece Theater.

Newest Infinity War Trailer Drops – The latest trailer for the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer is out. We see very little, except Star Lord being the most obnoxious, least funniest thing probably in the entire history of the MCU. The universe is ending, and you’re quipping? What?

Also, why does Thanos only want to kill half of us? Am I safe?   Cus if so, I say let him. As Tony Stark once said;  “Yeah, not a good plan.”

New Toonami Schedule – In our ever growing effort to include more nerd-based news, we have a schedule update for you!  Toonami shuffled their lineup, something they do a bit once shows hit their conclusion.  The decision to double up on “Cowboy Bebop” comes in part due to “Space Dandy” nearing it’s end.

10:30p – Dragon Ball Super
11:00p – Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters
11:30p – Black Clover
12:00a – JoJo: Stardust Crusaders
12:30a – Gundam: IBO
1:00a – Hunter x Hunter
1:30a – Naruto: Shippuden
2:00a – Space Dandy
2:30a – Cowboy Bebop
3:00a – Cowboy Bebop
3:30a – Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG

Obviously many fans want to see “My Hero Academia” (I’m a fan) added to the late night lineup.  The show has become a smash hit and has rivaled, if not surpassed the main stream appeal that followed “Attack on Titan” to the States.  “Attack on Titan” aired it’s second season in this block, so it’d make sense that they’d start airing “My Hero Academia”, especially with it’s third season being hotly anticipated stateside.

Detective Comics Getting New Partner? – Detective Comics is on it’s own march to 1,000 and new writer Bryan Hill of “The Wild Storm: Michael Cray” fame is bringing in a new partner for Batman when he arrives.  Or old, so to speak.  Hill’s first arc will see Batman team back up with CW’s newest hero, Black Lighting.  Former writer James Tynion IV announced he was leaving the title, is expected to get some sort of team up book, thought to be a ‘Justice League’ spin off.  Former “Batman” scribe, Scott Snyder is in charge of the main “Justice League” title.

Hill being’s on Detective Comics’ #982 issue, and his run will last at least five issues.

Quick Hits – The hit TV series “Narcos” is getting a video game adaptation from UK’s Curve Digital.

The “Supernatural” and “Scooby-Doo” crossover has official merchandise available now at Hot Topic.  The crossover episode is set for March 29th.

Lashana Lynch is replacing DeWanda Wise in “Captain Marvel”.  No character has been revealed yet, though some speculate it’s Monica Rambeau.
