New Hawkman Series Coming to DC, Snyder Reunites Iconic Justice League Team in Rebooted Title – ComicCorp News

New HawkMan Series – ‘Hawkman’ is getting a new series with Robert Venditti writing and illustrated by Bryan Hitch. Venditti commented on the character’s return by saying;

Hawkman is one of the richest, most storied characters in comic book history, a cornerstone of the DC Universe. His adventures have taken him from ancient history to the far-flung cosmos, and everywhere in between. It’s been too long since he had a series of his own, and I’m excited to bring him back to the DC Universe.

Hitch chimed in on this new series by saying;

“Hawkman has one of the most amazing visuals in comics.   He’s the greatest warrior in all of the DCU, and with such a robust history to (literally) draw on, the sky’s the limit for how far we can take this.

The new series will be in stores on June 13th

Scott Snyder’s Justice League Seems Familiar – Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Scott Snyder is bringing by a familiar lineup for his debut on the “Justice League” book.   As you can see in the photo, the lineup for the new Justice League features the cast of the mid 00’s Justice League cartoon, plus Cyborg and Aquaman.

Despite never being the big seller that Hal Jordan was, John Stewart has earned some real fan support thanks to the Justice League cartoon that featured him in a big role.  DC’s
“Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corp” have shown Stewart, Jordan, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner in some strong roles, showing that all four men have selling potential.

The interesting thing though isn’t Stewart being added to the team, as he’s been on the team in the past but it’s the return of Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl rejoining the team because not only have they been left off the team for years, but as a whole have been minimized in the DC Universe.  So seeing them all return has piqued many people’s interest.  While I’m more personally a Jordan/Rayner fan, Stewart’s return alongside Hawkgirl, and Manhunter have me wanting to get this title.  So kudos Scott Snyder, kudos.

Funimation Wants In – With Nintendo Switch bringing a new Smash Bros game to the console, Funimation; the home of Dragon Ball, wants to know when they can get in on the action. Tweeting out last week, Funimation sent a photoshopped image of Goku to the guys at Nintendo, wondering when its Goku’s turn. Both Japanese based companies are iconic and working together would get a lot of fans excited for the game; not that the game or cartoon needs any help getting popular.

Quick Hits – Despite a history of Pro Wrestling encounters, Stephen Amell would like fans to stop suggesting he fight Rusev; due to his understandable fear of the man.

Amazon has apparently revealed ‘Splinter Cell: Fourth Echelon’ ahead of it’s formal announcement alter this year.

Marvel has unveiled new attire for Wolverine and She-Hulk ahead of the Avengers shake up in the books.
