Karl Urban on Reprising Dredd, PlayStation Reading Their Next Console? and More! – ComicCorp News

Karl Urban on Reprising Dredd – Karl Urban has long said he wants to reprise his role as Judge Dredd from the 2012 cult classic ‘Dredd’. There is a series in the works called Mega City One but Urban makes it clear he thought they should of a done a sequel long ago in an interview with JoBlo, saying;

I would dearly love to have the opportunity to get in there and play that again. There are so many wonderful stories in the 2000 A.D./Judge Dredd canon that we’d be remiss not to have the opportunity to tell them. If it were up to me personally we would have been making Dredd 2 two years ago.

On Mega-City One series;

The rights holders [producer Brian Jenkins and Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley] are in their process of developing their show called Mega-City One and we’ve had many discussions and the ball’s in their court. Hopefully, they get it together and are able to deliver more of what the audience wants and it would certainly be a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of it.

PlayStation Five Coming Soon? – While video games arne’t usually my thing to report on, due to all the misinformation, this one is interesting. The word around Twitter user Marcus Sellars is pretty reliable by those who cover this industry and he’s lead the way on several big rumors. However, this one may be overkill. According to Sellars, the kits for the PlayStation 5 have been sent out to third party developers.

What this means, if true, is that the PS5 or PSV is right around the corner…maybe. There was a five year break between the original PlayStation and the ultra popular PS2. Then there was a six year break in between 2 and the PS3. Then a seven year window between the PS3 and current PS4. If the ‘add one year’ trend continues, 2020 would be the set release date for the PSV, which makes sense to me.

…I better trade my PS4 in for a Switch while it still has value….

Quick Hits – Robert Kirkman speculates there’s about 1.6 million humans total, worldwide left in the ‘Walking Dead’ universe. Call of Duty’s ‘Black Ops 4’ will have a ‘near-future’ setting according to online rumors. ‘Wonder Woman’s’ musical composer Rupert Gregson-Williams has been hired to do James Wan’s ‘Aquaman’ next.
