Rey Injured WrestleMania in Jeopardy?? IMPACT Announces Tapings for June and More! – WrestleCorp News

Rey Injured, WrestleMania in Jeopardy? – According to a variety of reports, Rey Mysterio has suffered a torn bicep. This has not been confirmed by Rey Mysterio as of this writing, but that’s the word for now. PWInsider confirms that Rey was set to meet with Triple H in Stamford to finalize the new deal for his return to the WWE, but Triple H had to leave to finalize a deal in Saudi Arabia. Mysterio was rumored to be set to face off with John Cena at this years WrestleMania, and with The Undertaker unlikely to ever be cleared to wrestle again, all eyes are now on the WWE to figure out who John Cena should face off with.

In a brief update, Rey is set to undergo testing today to determine the severity of his injury. His expected long-awaited dream match with Jushin Liger may be in jeopardy.

IMPACT Tapings Announced – The IMPACT Wrestling revival is well underway, especially in Canada. Last night at the co-branded One Night Only: March Breakdown for Border Championship Wrestling, it was announced that IMPACT would be back on June 1st and 2nd to film four weeks of TV at the St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. That’s the same venue IMPACT was at on Saturday night. For those wondering, the One Night Only taping from this past weekend was in fact a sellout. It should also be noted that the Twitch recording in Windsor with indy company Destiny was a bit smaller but was said to have a ‘really cool and intimate’ feel to it.

IMPACT Talent Update – There is a strong belief that Alberto El Patron will re-up with the company. He’s put over how professional and how well he’s been treated by IMPACT Wrestling, even with the whole Paige/Patron airport scandal happening. Eddie Edwards has already re-uped, as has Matt Sydal I’m told. However PWInsider is claiming he’s working on a new deal as well. However, the big name that many are waiting on baited breath on is Eli Drake. Eli is said to be happy within the company, as he’s arguably one of the top three guys in the promotion right now. Sources told PWInsider that IMPACT is optimistic about re-signing him as well.

Quick Hits – Bobby Fish suffered a knee injury over the weekend but no word on the severity is known at this time. WWE has announced that Hillbilly Jim will be the next inductee for the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame. Chris Jericho has indicated on Twitter that he is done with New Japan Pro Wrestling, for now. Former IMPACT Talent Tyson Dux and Cody Deaner worked as agents over the weekend for the company, alongside Jimmy Jacobs and Scott D’Amore. Rey Fenix has been confirmed for the Lucha Underground/IMPACT Wrestling event on April 6th.
