MCU Actor in Talks to Star in ‘Men In Black’ Spinoff, Doom Patrol Rounds Out Roster With Negative Man and More! – ComicCorp News

MIB Spin-Off Rumors – After the failure to launch a ‘Men in Black’ and ’21 Jumps Street’ crossover, the folks making the new ‘Men in Black’ spin off have targeted The God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth. Right now ‘Fate of the Furious’ director F. Gary Gray is attached to direct for now, with Matt Halloway and Art Marcum writing the film.

It should be noted that outside of his Marvel films, and ‘Cabin in the Woods’ most of Hemsworth’s other film projects either fail to make money, or are panned by critics. Why Hollywood keeps thinking Hemsworth is worth it is beyond me. Hey, maybe he’s cheap to hire?

New Marvel Series Announced – The upcoming film ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ is inspiring the comic side to launch a new series featuring the titular heroes. The series will feature Scott Lang struck in a shrunken form, with Nadia Pym trying to save him.

The series will be written by Mark Waid, with art by Javier Garron. Waid gave a comment to Newsarama, saying;

Everyone at Marvel knows I’m obsessed by two things: the Microverse and Cyclops. So when editor Jordan D. White wanted to do an Ant-Man & The Wasp mini-series, he knew to call me or else there’d be hell to pay.

Garron chimes in saying;

Each character by itself is amazing, but the true gem and the real treat comes when they interact with each other. As a comic book artist, specifically as a superhero comic book artist, you need to make the action pop out of the page, make it clear but exciting and dazzling. Yeah, sure, that’s vital.

Doom Patrol Adds Their Negative Man – We now have our Doom Patrol for the upcoming ‘Titans’ series. Joining Bruno Bichir (The Chief), April Bowlby (Elasti-Girl), and Jake Michaels (Robotman) as Negative Man is former ‘The Strain’ actor Dwain Murphy. Murphy has appeared on ‘Star Trek: Discovery’, ‘Killjoys’ and ‘The Mist’.

Quick Hits – After we reported earlier this month, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’s crew have confirmed John Constantine’s return for the season finale. Marvel announced that ‘Black Panther’ author Ta-Nehishi Coates is taking over ‘Captain America’, and will be joined by Leinil Yu as the lead artist. The folks running the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have released their mascots, which you can see below.
