CW Expanding Programming to Sundays?, Ubisoft Has 2 Major AAA Games Coming and More! – ComicCorp News

CW Expanding Programming? – The CW is having a good year and will be expanding it’s lineup from Monday through Friday to now include Sunday’s, a former staple of the network. The CW has apparently ordered 9 pilots for the new year which isn’t new, but there appears to be no cancellations forthcoming on the network. To make situations amendable and retain some of these pilots, The CW has opted to go back to six days a week with broadcasting original programming. The CW, unlike other major networks, also only airs two hours of original programming a night, unlike say a CBS, which does three (eight to eleven).

CW President Mark Pedowitz commented on the change, saying;

By expanding to six nights, The CW is now able to give our fans even more of the series they’re so passionate about. Broadcasting remains the foundation of our multi-platform approach to bringing our programming to viewers. Over the past seven years, The CW has added more than 80 hours of original scripted programming to its schedule – now that number can continue to climb, as we grow our broadcast lineup, and continue to add content on every platform.

This might be a bit serendipitous, as the “Charmed” reboot is forthcoming on the network. “Charmed” was one of the shows that used to air on Sundays.

The CW might be better off not just going form five to six nights, but all from two to three hours a night. This would allow an extra eight shows to air on the network, and would mean less flipping timeslots like The CW did this year with “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow”.

Ubisoft Changing Approach? – Ubisoft is working on a new and bizarre method of producing games, focusing on quality and not quantity. What a riveting idea. The brand will focus on Assassin’s Creed Origins instead of announcing a new title right away, hinting at the idea of releasing Assassin’s Creed to a two-year cycle. The company intends on releasing The Crew 2, as well as Skull and Bones in the near future. They’ll be looking to produce around 4 AAA titles for the near future. With the way the video game industry is going, more companies will adopt this method more than likely.

Quick Hits – ‘Wonder Woman’ has drawn a 2.809 on HBO in it’s debut. It’s unknown what the previous record was. “Five Nights at Freddy’s” has hired Chris Columbus to direct the film. John Constantine has been confirmed for the season finale of “Legends of Tomorrow’s” third season.
