Jason Jordan Costing Seth Rollins, NJPW Opens Dojo and More! – WrestleCorp News

Jason Jordan’s Injury Hurting Seth Rollins? – Apparently not only was Jason Jordan set for the Elimination Chamber this year, but so was Seth Rollins. In what was becoming one of the better angles in the company, Jordan and Rollins were bubbling to a blow off at some point and the Elimination Chamber seemed the right spot for it to implode. Dave Meltzer believes the two were heading to a crash course at WrestleMania, and one person I talked to said that it was going to happen, but with Kurt Angle involved somehow.

Apparently The Miz, and whoever wins the ‘second chance’ four way this week are the two men picked to replace the injured Jordan. Why they didn’t just insert Seth Rollins is beyond me.

NJPW Opens US Dojo – New Japan has announced that their United States dojo is opening in L.A. with two five-day camp sessions. The sessions are open to those with prior wrestling experience and without. The first is from March 19-23 and the second is March 26-30 for $500 a session. For those serious, this is a prime opportunity to get into the big leagues.

Sean Waltman Reveals Why He Didn’t Want Title – Sean Waltman’s last run in the WWE featured im as the WWF Lightweight Champion. However, Waltman revealed that he didn’t want to be champ, for a very bizarre reason. Apparently there was a pay decrease with whoever held the belt…Waltman is quoted as saying;

I was the very last WWF Light Heavyweight champion. I fought a long time to not have to have that belt. One time, I got my payoff and I gave him [Jim Ross] a call. It was a SummerSlam payoff and I asked him if they were paying me by the pound? So that’s how I felt about the pay scale there. That you were paid by the pound sometimes, and it’s not really, but you can get that being in the WWE at times. I didn’t want that. There was no way I wanted that. That was a pay cut for me. So that was the issue.

There was no real explanation given as to why this was the case.

Would Dana White Bring Brock Back? – When talking to UFC Tonight on FOX Sports1, UFC President Dana White was about Brock Lesnar potentially returning to the UFC as Lesnar’s deal with the WWE is up after WrestleMania, some suspect that if he were to return to MMA, it’d have to be now. Dana White responded to the Lesnar-return inquire by saying;

Anything is possible. Brock has always shown interest in coming over and fighting here in the UFC. I wouldn’t be shocked if he gave it one more shot.

Quick Hits – As heard last night, Sonjay Dutt and Josh Mathews will be doing commentary for the foreseeable future. I’m told that there might be a change at the first pay per view of 2018, Redemption. Lars Sullivan has returned to action at last night’s Dade City event. After a chippy week, Booker T has invited Corey Graves onto his radio show; Graves replied by saying that Book had Grave’s number. Tim Tebow claims he isn’t worried about the XFL in 2029, saying he’s focused on baseball at the moment. Scott D’Amore would like to see AJ Styles return to IMPACT for a homecoming of sorts.
