Venom Trailer Debuts – Despite not appearing at all in the trailer, the first look at “Venom” starring Thomas Hardy has debuted. As seen in the trailer, it’s a lot of basic trailer hype with little dialogue and absolutely no Venom. But check it out and let us know on Twitter @NerdCorp what you think.
Joaquin Phoenix in Talks to Play Joker? – “The Hangover’s” Todd Phillips is directing a Joker origin story that’s set to star Joaquin Phoenix of all people. Phoenix would in fact play the titular Joker character, essentially replacing Jared Leto as the character. At first the idea was to get Leonardo DiCaprio for the role but that fell through. These films will not impact the DC Extended Universe and will more than likely appear in their own “universe”. I don’t know why Warner Bros. is trying this but, whatever.
Harley Quinn Series Reveals Characters – The Hashtag show has revealed that THe Joker, Poison Ivy and Sy Borgman, Dr. Psycho, Malice Vundabar, King Shark, and Clayface will appear in the new series. So far no updates on who’s play who yet has come out.
Quick Hits – Michael Bay is “circling” DC’s “Lobo” film as director.
Stan Sakai, the creator of “Usagi Yojimbo” has announced that an animated version of the titular character has been optioned into an animated series by Gaumont and will see James Wan involved in the franchise. Jim Lee has posted his artist rendering of Black Panther on Instagram in perpetration of the film’s release.
