Another New X-Men Series Coming, Dragon Ball Done For A While? and More! – ComicCorp News

New X-Men Series Coming – Marvel already has three X-Men series running, but get ready for a revamping of one of those teams. X-Men Blue is heading into issue #25 and it looks like we’re getting a major shakeup. The original X-Men blue lineup featured the original X-Men (Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, and Angel) who ended up in the future somehow. The whole storyline is dumb. However, now they’re apparently lost in space…original, and will be replaced.

Magneto’s daughter Polaris will lead the team, along with Jimmy Hudson (the son of Wolverine from the Marvel Ultimate Universe), Daken (the son of Wolverine in the mainstream Marvel Comics Universe), Bloodstorm (a vampire Storm, not making that up), Xorn (though he may be a different character under the helmet), and Gazing Nightshade, a mutant from the Raksha based in Madripoor. The series brings them together in April.

Is Dragon Ball Coming Back Any Time Soon? – According to a Reddit known as alpha_beta3, they claim that ‘GeGeGe no Kitaro’ is taking over the time slot that Dragon Ball was in. This new series is lit for 100 episodes, and that could give it a run time of two-three seasons. While that alone isn’t a bad thing, the problem that arises according to alpha_beta3 is that these two shows share the same time slot. So that means if the show airs in that time slot until it ends, it could be a few years before a new Dragon Ball series debuts. Dragon Ball had been airing in that time slot for the better part of eight years.

There is always the option of changing Dragon Ball’s time slot and bring it back sooner. However, it’s being pointed out that there are no new plans for a Dragon Ball series at the moment, as they’re preparing for a new animated film coming out later this year.

Supergirl to face off With Major Character? – ‘Supergirl’ is getting a new alien race to beat up on, and that comes from a casting announcement. The announcement is;
[FINHEAD] Ferocious, terrifying and aggressive, this gigantic Kalanorian woman with a Mohawk faces Supergirl in a violent battle…STUNT ACTORS, FIGHT TRAINING/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

That makes me think that the series is bringing in the Kalanorian’s. They’re a race of ‘finheaded’, light purple looking aliens. They’re not that famous as opposed to other species, however they have a pretty famous member of their race in the way of Despero. Despero is unique in the sense that he has a third eye that gives him a range of abilities. Will he end up showing up? Who knows but one time he was brought in to the animated Justice League series on Cartoon Network, they had Keith David voice him. So…here’s hoping.

Tony Stark Back? – Dan Slott is taking over “Invincible Iron Man” starting at issue #600. However, he’ll be taking over a book featuring the return of Tony Stark. For the last year and a half, Riri Williams has been standing in as Iron Man under the moniker of Iron Heart, while Doctor Doom is acting as Iron Man in the other monthly Iron Man series, Infamous Iron Man. Stark’s been in a coma since the end of Civil War II. As ComicBook.com puts it;

Tony Stark was seen waking up from his coma in Marvel Legacy #1. Invincible Iron Man #599 will catch up with Tony since then and Invincible Iron Man #600 will bring all of these characters’ stories to a head as Bendis wraps up the “Search for Tony Stark” story arc and his time at Marvel Comics.

Does the return of Tony Stark make you want to pick up Iron Man’s #600 issue?

Riri Williams though isn’t being phased out, as she’s joining her fellow teenagers on the “Champions” line of comics.

Quick Hits – David Mazouz claims that a ‘Justice League of Villains’ will be coming to “Gotham” at the end of the season. Michael Jai White took to social media to announce “Black is Back”, hinting at Black Dynamite 2. The writer for Johnny Depp’s “Invisible Man” remake has left the project due to differing opinions on what the movie should be. “Logan” was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.
