ROH Champion Leaving for WWE? How Was IMPACT’s Viewership for Barbed Wire III? and More! – WrestleCorp News

Silas Young Leaving ROH? – In two interviews with PWInsider and CBS Sports, Silas Young essentially said that his earlier comments about joining NXT or IMPACT Wrestling were a joke. He was on vacation in Orlando and didn’t have a new contract; so he got fans riled up. Silas Young stated, very clearly, that he intends on re-signing with ROH and remaining their Television Championship. Here’s what he said;

Oh no, I’m gonna re-sign with Ring of Honor, I’m really happy. I just like to have fun on the Internet sometimes, that’s all.

Young may be nearing 40 but he’s one of the better characters in the company, and ROH needs to retain him.

Pope Tells Awesome Story About ‘Taker – D’Angelo Dinero, aka Elijah Burke, aka The Black Pope, was interviewed by David Penzar, and revealed what The Undertaker said to him right before his first WrestleMania match. Apparently right before he went out there, ‘Taker came up to him and noticed that Dinero was highly emotional, saying;

I was standing backstage with the Undertaker holding me. I was crying like a baby, and him telling me, ‘That’s what they want to see. That’s the type of passion they want to see. Enjoy this moment!

For Pope to share this story is a very cool thing. We rarely see stories like ‘Taker being compassionate, so it was a cool story to see Pope tell.

IMPACT Ratings for B.W.M.3 – Last night’s Barbed Wire Massacre III helped put IMPACT over the 300k mark, for Pop TV, a strong number on that network. There are no official statements about the Twitch.TV numbers though. We were busy recording ComicCorp so I didn’t pop by to see the match at it’s peak.

Quick Hits – The current rumor has Paul Heyman of all people inducting Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame. There’s a UK musical happening based around The Rock. Lana claims that Vince McMahon wasn’t mad at Lana for getting engaged and announcing it, but the dropping of the Summer Rae/Rusev angle was dropped because Vince wanted to go in a different direction.
