Details About ‘Action Comics #1000′ Involve Bendis’ Debut, ‘Gambit’ Once Again in Trouble and More! – ComicCorp News

Brian Michael Bendis’ First DC Project Revealed – The good folks at DC Comics are gearing up for not just Brian Michael Bendis joining the staff but also several milestones; one being Action Comics #1000 issue. Legendary Superman scribe, Dan Jurgens is currently working on that book and isn’t expected to depart. However, much like with Justice League during the New 52 relaunch, Action Comics #1000 will feature a back end story, separate from Jurgen’s story, that will feature the writing talent of Bendis. They’re not the only ones, as Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason will also write a secondary feature within the book. So you’re looking at multiple stories in a singular issue of “Action Comics”. Sounds fun.

‘Hellboy’ Reboot to Be Interesting – Former ‘Newsroom’ and current ‘Stranger Things’ actor, David Harbour is very excited about this film. While he’s put over how hard the film is to shoot, physically he’s also revealed some interesting tidbits, like that there are gong to be demons, ghosts and “big creatures” featured in this film. Hellboy is very much a fantasy adventure in some respects, so that’s not too surprising to hear. It’s also being rumored that Harbour may even sing a little bit in the film, but that’s not confirmed and is currently being debated and denied by some.

‘Gambit’ in Trouble Again? – The film just can’t catch a break. The folks at Fox have already lost two directors and now you can add a third. Apparently the film was shuttled again from February of 2019 to June of 2019 and that seems to be just the final straw for most recent directorial candidate, Gore Verbinski has pulled out of the project; following the likes of Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman. No word on who the fourth director will be but with the MCU about ready to swallow the X-Men universe whole in two years, Fox needs to get this movie out before the deal between Disney and Fox is finalized by the US government, or else this movie may never happen.

Venom Update – ‘Venom’ has released two images, one of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and one of his notebook. The photos confirm somethings, like that Brock is in fact a journalist in this version and that the Life Foundation will be incorporated into the films narrative. In the first photo we just see Hardy’s Brock standing around. But the second photo is of a notebook with questions and those are;

So, how exactly does the Life Foundation go about testing its pharmaceuticals?

What about the allegations your empire is built on?

That you recruit the most vulnerable of us to volunteer for the tests that end up […] them?

Quick Hits – John Williams wants to provide the score for Episode IX. ‘The New Mutants’ film is being delayed 10 months from April 13th of this year, to February 22nd of 2019. Sources cite it’s overlap with ‘Deadpool 2’ as the reason. ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ cast member Mercedes Mason has delivered birth to her son this past Wednesday. The remake of ‘Spawn’ for the big screen will apparently feature a silent protagonist according to new rumors.
